Lluis Artal Vidal is a Spanish artist whose work spans drawing, painting, caricature, and experimental forms with a touch of Cubism. Trained at the Escola Massana and later under Norman Narotzky and Armand Cabús, he embraces an intentionally free and anarchic approach to technique. His artistic path began in childhood, painting Pyrenean landscapes with his aunt, a painting teacher from Argentina. A pivotal moment came in 1960, when he saw a discreet Picasso exhibition in Barcelona and felt compelled to paint. Though he considers himself an amateur, his rare public showings have drawn viewers who linger over the unusual character of his work. Today, he focuses mainly on drawing, inspired by artists such as Man Ray, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, and Gustav Klimt.
